Halfway into a season of professional rugby in Europe, I was forced into retiring at age 29 due to chronic pain. No Sports Doctor or Physiotherapist could identify the cause of my pain.

My discontentment with the lack of holistic answers within the standard medical and rehabilitation approach, fuelled my journey to seek better solutions. This has led me to develop an integrated system of manual therapy and corrective exercise to overcome the causes of movement dysfunction and pain.

Today, almost 25 years later, I’m a qualified Osteopathic Manual Therapist and certified Functional Movement Specialist (FMS), based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The more functional appraisel of movement (focussing on patterns rather than parts) which I've learned through Functional Movement Systems, has been greatly complemented by the holistic manual medicine skills I've been taught in my Osetopathic studies.

The degree I completed in psychological counseling back in 2013, has further helped me develop a whole person approach, particularly when it comes to assisting clients in addressing lifestyle imbalances that might be perpetuating their health problems. Due to the great need for an holistic understanding when treating underlying causes, I am currently also doing a Natural Health Practicioner diploma.

Lastly, but certainly not least, my respect for the natural principles governing all of God's intelligent design, underpins all the work I do. It is ultimately only when we live in harmony with these principles that we experience optimal health and vitality.
